- You could argue that a moment is
A minute and thirty seconds.
Without much contention however,
We can both agree it is
A particular point in time.
One that could be important, Unforgettable, breathtaking,
Or leave you gasping for breathe.
We seldom see a moment,
At that moment, for what it really is.
The true extent of a moment,
Is appreciated long after its occurrence.
On a day like this,
When I choose to reminisce
About the exciting and pulse-quickening past,
I find myself feeling utterly nostalgic.
I choose to skip the dry, mediocre
And wry-smile evoking past though,
DON’T blame me for blinding the ugly past.
I’m better off with those moments
That do actually matter.
Moments of utter warmth
Especially on lonely and cold nights,
“Virgin moments” that enveloped first acts,
And moments of impact.
Most become symbolic
And synonymous to times and beings,
A few remain etched into the walls
Of my heart, memory and subconscious,
While others just fizzle out.
One of my favourites?
I think you already know.
Actually define who we are.
